City jobs surge for first time since EU referendum

The latest Morgan McKinley London Employment Monitor has revealed the number of jobs available in the city's financial district has risen for the first time since the Brexit vote.

The report found a 6% increase in jobs available year-on-year for November while the number of professionals seeking jobs year-on-year was also up by 16%. Hakan Enver, operations director at Morgan McKinley Financial Services, said: "This is the first post-Brexit year-on-year increase in jobs that we have seen. Heading into the New Year with a higher base of jobs compared to last year bodes well for City employment in 2017." However, month-on-month figures show a more disappointing scenario, with the number of City jobs available down by 14% and the number of professionals seeking job...
