Aviva: Investing in US healthcare in the election run-up

Focus on 'fundamental change' in health industry

Mikhail Zverev, manager of the recently launched Aviva Investors Global Equity Unconstrained fund, has invested in a company in the "controversial" US healthcare sector.

The £9.9m fund was launched on 1 August this year and the manager said the key factor he is considering when investing in companies for the new fund is "some kind of fundamental change in the business or in the industry" that the market has "misunderstood and mispriced". He said one of his holdings is US health insurance company UnitedHealth - a stock that is "not particularly expensive because of all the perceived political risk".
