ClearBridge Investments’ head of real assets, Nick Langley, will step down from certain portfolio responsibilities in September this year to focus on his leadership role, Investment Week can reveal.

From 30 September 2026, Langley, who has been at the company for close to two decades, will remove himself from portfolio management on all ClearBridge Global Infrastructure income accounts and funds.

These include the UK-based FTF ClearBridge Global Infrastructure Income and the Ireland-domiciled FTGF ClearBridge Global Infrastructure Income funds, which are valued at £1.7bn and more than €1bn, respectively, according to data from FE Analytics.

These funds will continue to be led by portfolio managers, Shane Hurst and Charles Hamieh, who both joined the firm in 2010, and Daniel Chu, who joined the team in 2012.

Langley will keep his position as head of real assets, which he has held since June 2025, and will remain as portfolio manager on the ClearBridge Global Infrastructure Value strategy that he launched in 2006 with co-portfolio managers Hurst, Hamieh and Simon Ong.

Prior to joining ClearBridge Investments, Langley held senior positions at firms such as UBS, ABN AMRO and AMP Capital. He founded RARE Infrastructure in 2006, which became part of ClearBridge in 2020. In the same year, ClearBridge Investments was acquired by Franklin Templeton.

A person familiar with the matter told IW that "there will be no changes to the investment approach, process or objectives of each strategy".

"These changes are part of a long‑term, carefully considered succession plan designed to ensure continuity, stability and depth across ClearBridge's Global Listed Infrastructure strategies," the person added.

ClearBridge Investments has also promoted Moaz Mohib, senior portfolio analyst, to portfolio manager on the ClearBridge Global Infrastructure funds.

Mohib joined ClearBridge in 2016 and will aid Langley in ensuring a "smooth and seamless transition".
