BNP Paribas Asset Management (BNPP AM) has hired Jane Ambachtsheer as global head of sustainability.
Working alongside Helena Viñes-Fiestas, BNPP AM's deputy head of sustainability, Ambachtsheer will lead on sustainability-related research, ESG integration, engagement, advocacy and governance.
Ambachtsheer, who will report to CEO and head of investments at BNPP AM Frédéric Janbon out of the firm's Paris office, will also manage overall corporate social responsibility policy. She will take up the role on 27 August.
Ambachtsheer previously served as partner and chair of responsible investment at Mercer, where she oversaw the strategy for the responsible investment team and advised investors globally.

She has also served as a consultant to the United Nations through the development of the Principles for Responsible Investment, which are now supported by more than 1,800 signatories representing $70trn of assets.
Commenting on the appointment Janbon said: "As a seasoned professional who is recognised globally as a leading influencer in responsible investment, Jane adds outstanding expertise to a central pillar of BNPP AM's strategy.
"While we continue to strengthen our commitment to long-term investing, as well as acting as a responsible firm, having Jane on board will definitely accelerate the path to achieving our goals as a leading player in sustainable finance."
