WMA ends 20-year index deal with FTSE as it appoints MSCI

The Wealth Management Association (WMA) is to end an index provider deal with FTSE UK after 20 years, as it reaches an agreement with MSCI to become index provider of its Private Investor Index Series.

From 1 March 2017, the MSCI will run a series of flexible multi-asset class indices for the private client sector, taking over from FTSE UK, which was originally appointed by the WMA in 1997. MSCI was chosen as the WMA said the firm is "credible, useful and relevant to the wealth management community", and also offers the necessary flexibility to make changes to indices when enhancements were required.   The deal covers five indices from the Private Investor Series: conservative, balanced, income, growth and global growth, subject to board approval, and will include ten years of histo...
