BlackRock's London global equity head quits after two years

Was co-responsible for $31bn in AUM

BlackRock's London-based global equity head Gary Clarke has left the group after two years.

Clarke (pictured) joined the firm in August 2014, after working as head of global retail and thematic investing at JPMAM for four years.

He also co-managed BlackRock's global equity platform in addition to its Global Core & Focus and Long Horizon Equity strategies, which he co-managed alongside Teun Draaisma.

Following his departure, Stuart Reeve, manager of the firm's global dividend income portfolios, has been appointed to take over the role of London's global equity head.

Reeve has also taken over management of the Long Horizon Equity strategies alongside Andrew Wheatley Hubbard while Draaisma will continue to manage the Global Core & Focus strategies

Meanwhile, Tom Callan, who currently manages a number of global equity products including the $271m BlackRock GF Global Opportunities fund, will become head of the global equity platform.

BlackRock in global investment team reshuffle

A spokesperson for BlackRock said: "Gary Clarke has informed us of his intention to leave the firm. Gary was formerly co-head of the global equity platform and head of the London-based global equity team.

"We thank Gary for his contribution to the firm and wish Tom and Stuart every success in their expanded roles."
