OMGI's Nickols steps down from offshore UK small-cap fund

Dan Nickols has stepped back from the management of the offshore Old Mutual UK Smaller Companies Focus fund, with Nick Williamson promoted to lead manager.

Nickols has been lead manager of the £136m Dublin-domiciled fund since 2009, and also runs the bigger £802m Old Mutual UK Smaller Companies fund.  He will continue as lead manager on the UK Smaller Companies fund with Williamson as deputy, and will also support Williamson as deputy on the Focus fund. Williamson (pictured), who joined OMGI in 2008 from his role as an analyst at Citigroup, has been deputy manager on both funds since January 2014, but this will be his first time running a fund as lead manager.
