The FTSE 100 will rise over 70% and hit the 10,000 mark in the next decade, Invesco Perpetual's Martin Walker has predicted.
The manager of the £802m UK Growth fund said he expects the FTSE to move up to this level, equivalent to an average climb of 7% per year, despite risks in the eurozone and US. "Over the medium to long term, I am very bullish and believe the market could grind up from its current level to 10,000 in the next decade," he said. “We will see continued volatility, but I expect the market to trough at a higher place each year.
