SFO faces first operations probe

The Attorney-General has called for the first inspection of operations at the Serious Fraud Office(SFO).

The inquiry, which will be conducted by the Crown Prosecution Service Inspectorate, will review the way the SFO builds cases and selects files to investigate, the Times reports. An official in the Attorney-General's office said: "The law officers and director of the Serious Fraud Office agreed that it would be useful for the SFO to be inspected, particularly as there is shortly to be a new director.
