Buffett's Berkshire hires fund manager

The future succession of Warren Buffett at Berkshire Hathaway took another twist yesterday after the billionaire hired a 39-year-old hedge manager to his investment team.

The relatively low-profile Castle Point Capital manager Todd Combs was selected by Buffett, after what the 'Sage of Omaha' says was a three-year search. Buffett, who has no intention of retiring any time soon, previously said his current role would be split between a chief executive to oversee Berkshire's operating companies and a handful of managers to look after the investment portfolio.
