Outlook 2019: European managers eyeing entry points after turbulent year

Fund managers, buyers and other industry commentators are cautious of further volatility as well as macro uncertainty for European equities in 2019, amid continued political wrangling across the eurozone and further questions about the path for the European Central Bank.

European equities faced a tumultuous 2018, with volatility driven by political uncertainty such as Brexit negotiations as well as the Italian election and political conflict with regard to its national debt.  Are European assets a buy? The Euro Stoxx 50 fell roughly 11.1% to 5565.8 from the beginning of the year to 31 December, while the Euro Stoxx 600 has fallen around 9.2% to 151.6 over the same period.
