Multi-asset PM McNay to leave HSBC GAM after nine years

Stephane Mesnard moves to London while firm searches for replacement

Multi-asset portfolio manager David McNay is set to leave HSBC Global Asset Management in April after nine years with the firm, Investment Week has learned.

McNay, who was responsible for the World Selection, HSBC Global Emerging Markets Multi-Asset Income and HSBC US Income Focussed funds, is set to take on a "new role" away from the firm. HSBC GAM CIO Cheetham to retire In an internal memo seen by Investment Week, HSBC GAM said its multi-asset range, which is led by Ashley Reid, has a "team-based" philosophy and "has never been anchored on a single fund manager" as it attempts to avoid "key man risk".
