Investment Week has attracted a line-up of 24 portfolio managers for its Investment Week Select 2020 event, including Aberdeen Standard Investments’ (ASI) Ben Ritchie and Chris Teschmacher from Legal & General Investment Management.
The new one-day event, which takes place on 4 February in London, will see fund managers presenting to small groups of fund buyers in intimate boardroom sessions.
Delegates are able to choose the sessions they want to attend and will then have the opportunity to select up to 12 meetings with the portfolio managers.
Among the session highlights are 'Europe in 2020: a perfect market for stockpickers', where Ritchie, who is head of European equities at ASI, will discuss why Europe remains a perfect market for well-resourced stockpickers and how its currently unloved status creates an opportunity to find compelling mispriced investment opportunities.
Clark Fenton, head of diversified return at RWC Partners, will talk about the next decade in asset allocation, while Jamie Jenkins, director and head of responsible global equities at BMO, will present a session on how diligent stock selection and proactive company engagement harness the investment opportunities presented by environmental and societal challenges.
Another session that has been confirmed is 'Mapping a path to target return', in which fund manager Teschmacher and Willem Klijnstra, a strategist at LGIM, will step inside the mind of the L&G Multi Asset Target Return fund managers, and learn how they are navigating the traps that often beset investors.
Other confirmed speakers also include Dean Tenerelli, portfolio manager at T. Rowe Price, Laura Destribats, vice president and co-lead portfolio manager at Goldman Sachs Asset Management, Sanlam Investments' head of multi-strategy Mike Pinggera and Matthew Brett, investment manager at Baillie Gifford.
The event will have a relaxed but professional tone, with refreshments available on a grab-and-go basis rather than formal coffee or lunch breaks.
