Close Brothers Asset Management has appointed investment management director at Brooks Macdonald Alastair Wilson as a managing director within its Edinburgh office.
The appointment of Wilson, who was a founding member of Brooks Macdonald's Edinburgh office in 2009, is intended to support the growth of Close Brother's high-net-worth investment management capability, the firm said.
Close Brothers hires managing director from Rathbones
It is the fourth senior investment hire within Close Brothers' Edinburgh office over the past year, following the appointments of managing director Christopher Godfrey-Faussett earlier this year, and Andrew Mackintosh-Walker and John Henderson last year.
Prior to the ten years spent with Brooks Macdonald, Wilson served as a senior investment director at Adam & Co, where he was a member of the asset allocation committee.
He is also currently chairman of the Cattanach Charitable Trust endowment, which makes grants to Scottish charities, according to his LinkedIn profile.
Chief executive of Close Brothers Asset Management Martin Andrew said the firm's high net worth proposition is "going from strength to strength", and Wilson's appointment is "further evidence of the merit of our offering as we continue to attract the highest calibre of investment professionals".
He added: "The appointment of select, high-quality individuals is central to the expansion of our Scotland office, which in turn is a crucial element of our growth plans across the UK.
"Alastair brings with him tremendous pedigree and expertise; he will support the team in continuing to deliver excellence to our expanding Scottish client-base."
