Schroders head of UK distribution Guy Henriques has left the firm to join US funds giant Capital Group as head of Europe and Asia distribution.
Henriques, who also worked at Schroders as CEO for Latin America and head of its institutional global management team, was appointed as the firm's country head for UK business in 2016 after four years serving in a similar role for the Japanese market.
With 30 years of experience, Henriques also served as head of asset management at the Bank for International Settlements from 1991 to 2006. He will join $1.9trn AUM Capital Group's London office from November.
Capital Group management committee member and the firm's head of fixed income said Mike Gitlin said the firm was "impressed" by Henriques' "depth of experience across the globe and his commitment to serving clients".
He added: "Europe and the Asia-Pacific region represent an important growth opportunity for Capital Group in the years and decades ahead, and we think that Guy is particularly well-suited to lead a team that's done outstanding work in helping investors around the globe."
President of Europe and Asia at Capital Group Hamish Forsyth added that Henriques' appointment will "accelerate" the firm's efforts expanding its investment offerings, establishing permanent sales presences and "better leveraging our global marketing capabilities".
