Contrarian Investor: Following Brexit, is globalisation under attack?

Following last week's successful Brexit vote, investors should be under no illusion that globalisation is now under attack.

The success of politicians like Donald Trump, Nigel Farage, Marine Le Pen in France and Beppe Grillo in Italy is a clear sign many voters ignore the cheap goods and increased total employment produced by globalisation, and focus instead on the clear negatives like immigration and images of refugee 'hordes' swarming at our borders. Whatever happens after the referendum, a more honest and nuanced debate is needed about the virtues of immigration, but I fear we may have to wait a while for that.
