I am indebted to Liontrust’s daily note for the quote above, which seems to say as much about markets as it does about Dave Allen’s humour. You could read this quote as being about whether you are a ‘glass half full, or glass half empty’ kind of person, particularly when it comes to markets. Of course, in Dave Allen’s case, it was always a glass with a nip of Irish whisky, which on occasions seemed to disappear a bit too quickly.
