Colombia is a frustrated country. The 'C' in the CIVETS group of emerging economies (along with Indonesia, Vietnam, Egypt, Turkey and South Africa) has all the ingredients for rapid economic growth and industrial development.

It has an enviable location in Latin America, bordering Brazil, Peru, Venezuela and Ecuador, with coasts on two oceans. It also has strong economic fundamentals, a young and educated workforce, falling unemployment, low and stable inflation, and recently won back its investment grade status from the three leading ratings agencies.
