I just love those press releases that tell you absolutely nothing but the blindingly obvious. This week's contribution to the growing habit comes from wealth manager Heartwood.
According to the group, over 70% of wealthier parents are unwilling to compromise their lifestyle to provide their children with an inheritance. It also told us the majority of parents (66%) would, if they had the choice, leave their children a large enough inheritance to give them a start in life, but not so much they would be put off working. Going further, 92% of parents intend to divide their inheritance equally between their children, with only 4% planning to allocate it according to their needs, and 74% aspire to leave their children better off than they were. This made me smile...
