The good thing about a journalist's job is that you get to meet, interview and listen to a lot of fund managers. But the best bit is that, unlike advisers, I don't have to invest anyone's money with any of the managers, so I can never be wrong. Which is just as well because it struck me last week that trying to pick the right managers is a bit like one of those spot the ball competitions.
