After a long period of speculation, Fidelity has finally confirmed it will reveal Anthony Bolton's successor on the Special Situations fund in the week starting 14 May. Whoever the group unveils - many tip Sanjeev Shah as the most likely candidate - this announcement is coming at a vital time for the group. No longer the default option for advisers it was four or five years ago, there is a sense Fidelity has to get this right or face some difficult consequences.
