Legg Mason appoints JPMAM's Andrews for new UK strategic alliances role

Legg Mason has hired Sophie Andrews in the newly-created position of head of UK strategic alliances, responsible for developing relationships with the firm's distribution partners and advisory sales channels across the country.

The role will also see her work closely with Legg Mason's alternative distribution strategies team and report to head of UK sales Alexander Barry, with whom she worked previously at JPMAM. Legg Mason hires UK sales head to replace Gent Barry said the appointment demonstrates the firm's "commitment to building long-term strategic partnerships with our clients at a time when investors around the world are increasingly preferring to partner with fewer, diversified, asset managers".
