Standard Life completes merger with Aberdeen Asset Management  Standard Life completed its merger with Aberdeen following regulatory and shareholder approval. The two major asset management players create a £670bn AUA behemoth, having first announced the deal on 6 March 2017. Recently, analysts at Citi have upgraded the merged business from 'neutral' to 'buy' on the back of upside driven by cost synergies and recovery in the firm's emerging market and GARS funds.  2.
