7IM hikes gold to record high to weather market risk

Exposure outweighs ‘Ireland, UAE and Czech Republic’

Seven Investment Management (7IM) has increased its exposure to gold to levels unmatched in the firm's history, as it looks to shield itself from elevated market risks.

7IM CIO Chris Darbyshire said last week that the firm was employing "risk off" positioning and that its "seatbelts are fastened". Data released by the firm on Tuesday shows that its gold exposure is currently greater than that of Ireland, the United Arab Emirates, and Czech Republic.
