Update: WMA and APFA members approve merger to form PIMFA

The Wealth Management Association (WMA) and the Association of Professional Financial Advisers (APFA) have agreed to merge to create the Personal Investment Management & Financial Advice Association (PIMFA), effective on 1 June.

 The new name has been updated from the original proposal to add word 'Personal' to the acronym following further thinking and feedback, aiming to emphasise the nature of the services offered by the united member base. The new association will be led by Liz Field (pictured), currently CEO of the WMA. This merger, which has been approved by the members of both organisations, will create a joined-up representative body for advice firms and idividuals.
