BlackRock's Stenning to leave after 16 years

Taking a career break next year

Tony Stenning, currently head of retirement for EMEA at BlackRock, is to leave the firm after 16 years, with plans to take a career break next year.

Stenning (pictured) joined the firm in 2000 in the product management group when it was owned by Merrill Lynch, and in 2001 became head of the UK retail marketing team. In 2004, he joined the UK retail sales division, and in 2009 he was appointed head of the UK retail business, a role he held until 2015. During this time, BlackRock grew its share of the UK retail market from 1% to 6.5%, and this part of the business is now headed by Jeremy Roberts.
