Pickard and Cole to run new long-only strategy

Man GLG has launched an unconstrained emerging market equity strategy for new hires Simon Pickard and Edward Cole.

Pickard (pictured) and Cole joined Man GLG from Carmignac in May where Pickard was head of emerging equities and Cole was a portfolio manager. The new long-only strategy aims to outperform the MSCI Emerging Markets Free index by blending value, quality, momentum and macro styles.  It will hold 50 stocks, primarily large-and mid-caps, from a universe of around 300. There will be capacity for 10% to be held in cash.
