RSMR adds investment trusts to ratings service

Fund research and ratings group RSMR is now rating investment trusts in response to adviser demand.

The firm said it had seen demand from advisers who are having to consider a full range of products for their clients in order to demonstrate independence post-RDR. Trusts are considered based on factors including gearing, liquidity, performance fees, management team, and investment process. The initial list will comprise 15 trusts, which will grow as the research team continues to meet with managers.
