Giant PIMCO funds join IMA sectors

PIMCO has listed 23 funds across a number of IMA sectors, including the £20bn Total Return Bond fund in the Global Bond sector, managed by Bill Gross (pictured).

The funds appeared in the IMA Corporate Bond, Strategic Bond, High Yield and Global Bond sectors earlier this month and a number of funds in the group's GIS range and the entire PIMCO Select range are still to be listed. Within the Corporate bond sector, where the FSA has addressed concerns over liquidity, the PIMCO GIS Global Investment Grade Credit fund has been listed with AUM of £13.6bn, making it the largest fund in the sector and twice as large as the second biggest fund, the £6.5bn M&G Corporate bond fund.
