O'Neill's GSAM launches range of alternative index trackers

Goldman Sachs Asset Management has launched a range of funds tracking new S&P Dow Jones indices that offer investors alternative beta.

The S&P GIVI Global Growth Markets Tilt index - combining the S&P GIVI and S&P GIVI GDP indices - have been created to offer investors a new way of investing in markets. The indices aim to combine country GDP growth characteristics with the economic weight of companies. Stocks in the GIVI index are weighted by their calculated intrinsic value, rather than market-cap. Meanwhile countries in the GIVI GDP index are weighted according to their GDP growth, but with those with the highest beta excluded.
