BlackRock promotes Hoctor-Duncan; Slendebroek joins Jupiter

BlackRock has promoted Alex Hoctor-Duncan to the newly created role of head of retail for Europe, Africa and the Middle East (EMEA), while Maarten Slendebroek, responsible for international retail, is leaving next month after 18 years with the group

Slendebroek will join the board of Jupiter as an executive director responsible for distribution and strategy, a new role reporting to CEO Edward Bonham Carter. He is expected to join the firm in the second half of the year. Hector-Duncan will report to Rob Fairbairn, head of the firm’s Global Client Group (GCG), and James Charrington, chairman of the EMEA region. He will also join BlackRock’s EMEA and GCG executive committees, and will continue to be based in London.
