Group builds best ideas fund from regional desks as part of MLIM trust proposals

Invesco Perpetual has constructed a best ideas portfolio from its regional desks as part of reconstruction proposals for the Merrill Lynch Asset Allocator trust. Under the proposals to be voted on at a forthcoming EGM, Invesco Perpetual will run three separate portfolios for the trust, UK, global best ideas and short-term debt. A fourth will remain outsourced to hedge fund specialist Fauchier Partners. The group will use this to test appeal for an open-ended version of this structure.
