UK small cap manager Roger Whiteoak has left Axa Framlington. He ran the UK Smaller Companies fund and the Throgmorton Trust, and headed the UK small cap team. Under Whiteoak’s management, the £133m fund returned 175% over the five years to 25 February, according to Morningstar. His replacement on the UK Smaller Companies fund will be his deputy manager Chris St John, who will also run the Throgmorton Trust. Whiteoak joined Axa from Rathbones in 2000, where he ran the UK Smaller Companies Trust and the Capital Growth fund.
