RWC Partners is to launch a long-only Asian portfolio in September. RWC Asian Ascent will be run by recently appointed Asia and emerging market specialists Carmel Peters and Kirsty McLaren. The managers join from hedge fund boutique Sofaer Capital in August. The fund, which has the ability to go short, aims to outperform the Asia ex Japan indices. RWC, formerly MPC Investors, currently manages three hedge funds.
