The FSA has published a consultation paper on Mifid explaining proposed changes to its own rules and setting out proposals for implementing the directive. In terms of changes to FSA rules, the paper looks at the scope of UK regulation, the authorisation of investment firms and their passporting rights as well as the registration of tied agents. The paper also explains how the FSA intends to implement Mifid's provisions governing regulated markets and multi-lateral trading facilities, where they are not already covered by proposed Treasury legislation.
