Pension term assurance will be available for sale by protection intermediaries for the first time under FSA proposals. The regulator has decided to issue a consultation paper on the product later this year, proposing it should be sold under Insurance Conduct of Business (ICOB) in addition to Conduct of Business (COB) rules. The move came after a number of industry experts expressed concerns that current legislation hinders protection intermediaries from advising on the whole of the protection market.
