Barbell approach sees managers of IMS Global Select blend value and growth funds to beat MSCI World benchmark
by aimee savage IMS Global Select, which launched in December 2002 under Giles Gilbertson and Richard Timberlake, aims to provide a high total return by investing in a blend of authorised, recognised and unregulated funds. Benchmarked against the MSCI World index, the product will normally have 15% of its assets invested in the UK. As with all IMS-run products, the managers use a barbell approach to build the fund portfolio, combining growth and value funds.
