Three names in the running to succeed governor Mark Carney

The new governor of the Bank of England (BoE) is due to be selected in a matter of days, according to the FT.

Mark Carney is set to depart the BoE on 31 January 2020, having begun in the role on 1 July 2013. The FT has reported that officials want chancellor Sajid Javid to select Carney's successor soon, given that his departure date is nearing but that the Treasury said it was not certain this announcement would come before Christmas.
