Sanford DeLand hires from WH Ireland for chief analyst role

Will lead analysis for UK Buffettology fund

Sanford DeLand Asset Management (SDL) has appointed Eric Burns as chief analyst to lead the stock research analysis for the £1.2bn UK Buffettology and £7.3m Free Spirit funds.

Burns is set to start in his new role on 1 January 2020 and will work closely with the investment team. He has been an equity analyst for more than ten years at WH Ireland, where he was most recently deputy head of institutional research. Alex Brotherston, chief executive of SDL, said: "I am delighted to have someone of Eric's calibre joining the team at such a pivotal time as we continue to strengthen our investment capabilities at SDL, and build out the business as a whole."
