Allianz GI CEO Utermann to retire

Andreas Utermann will retire as CEO of Allianz Global Investors (GI) at the end of the year, to be replaced by Tobias C. Pross, the asset management firm said on Monday (11 November).

Utermann's other role at the firm, global head of investments, will be taken on by Deborah Zurkow in what Allianz GI said was part of its succession plan. The changes will take effect on 1 January 2020 and Utermann will be available to the leadership of the firm on an advisory basis for the first six months of next year. Pross is currently global head of distribution at Allianz GI and has been with the firm for over 20 years, while Zurkow, who joined in 2012, is global head of alternatives.
