Newton IM hires Haubelt to lead £11.1bn equity opps unit

Newton Investment Management has appointed Ilga Haubelt as head of equity opportunities, leading a ten-strong team responsible for global, non-income active equity strategies, and £11.1bn in AUM.

Haubelt will begin the newly-created role in the BNY Mellon IM boutique's London from 4 November and will report to chief investment officer Curt Custard. Newton's Clay on not doing 'what it says on the tin' She joins from her role a head of global equities as Dekabank subsidiary Deka Investment, where she oversaw a team of 23 people, representing assets of more than $15bn, and managed the firm's largest equity fund.
