Invesco has hired Ali Zouiten and Derek Steeden from HSBC Global Asset Management and Legal & General Investment Management respectively to newly created roles within its London-based Invesco Investment Solutions team.
Zouiten and Steeden, who join as director of derivatives solutions development and portfolio manager respectively, will be responsible for developing a team to manage liability-aware and multi-asset overlay portfolios, in particular for pensions and insurance clients.
Most recently employed as head of investments for product development at HSBC GAM, Zouiten has also held roles at Baloise Group in Switzerland and AXA in Paris.
Steeden most recently served as a portfolio manager at LGIM, managing bonds and derivatives against liability targets in collaboration with internal and external managers. He also served as head of investment guidelines management, where he worked across portfolio management teams.
Prior to LGIM, Steeden was a strategist at State Street Global Advisors, where he was partially responsible for liability-aware portfolio management, having also worked at Ignis Asset Management.
Head of EMEA client solutions at Invesco Mark Humphreys said the pair "will play vital roles" in the firm's EMEA Solutions business.
He added: "With their in-depth knowledge and experience in their respective fields, we are confident that they will be tremendous assets for both our pensions and insurance business.
"These hires underline our commitment to building strong partnerships with our clients across EMEA by understanding their unique needs and being able to create effective solutions for them using our enhanced capabilities."
