I was watching Rain Man the other week and, if you remember, there is a scene where Raymond refuses to board any plane apart from Qantas on the basis of it being the only airline which had never had a crash.
I fly up and down to London all the time and it struck me I never consider an airline’s safety record when deciding who to fly with. I consider my basic needs as being destination, time and cost, in that order. Personal safety has not really been a consideration because I generally assume that all airlines operating in the UK are good in that area. This made me wonder whether we are actually asking the right questions when considering purchases or services.
