The Walking with the Wounded trip to the North Pole, which includes four disabled soldiers injured in conflict, finally set off last week with Prince Harry among the party.

The group is trying to achieve a first – walking to the Pole unsupported with members of the team who are physically impaired – in an attempt to raise £2m towards charities that help members of the armed forces. See here. This initiative is the latest in a series of charitable causes being supported by the financial services industry. In this case the cost of the expedition is being underwritten by Artemis, ensuring 100% of the monies raised do go to the good causes.
