2009 was a difficult year for structured products.

In a year of record sales, the sector was rocked by the demise of four plan providers and a barrage of negative and, some would say, unfair commentary. Despite these setbacks many advisors consider structured products as a mainstream product for UK investors. With almost unlimited potential, flexibility and options, structured products are a very attractive proposition. However, their complexity and underlying risks have been cited as a drawback.
