Schroders' Japanese equities veteran Andrew Rose to retire after nearly 40 years

Schroders' Andrew Rose, manager of the £2.3bn Schroder Tokyo fund and £250m Schroder Japan Growth investment trust has announced plans to retire from the industry in June.

Andrew Rose joined Schroders in 1981 and has held a number of roles within the Japan division including senior investment officer for Japan and most recently, head of Japanese equities. His management responsibilities will be passed onto Masaki Taketsume from 1 July 2019, who will be supported by Nathan Gibbs, investment director for Japanese equities. Taketsume has worked at Schroders since 2007 as a member of its Japanese equity team, initially as a technology analyst and then a fund manager.
