FTSE firms urged to 'get with the new norm' on female board representation

The number of women on FTSE 100 company boards has exceeded 30% for the first time, according to an annual report on gender diversity, although 75 FTSE 350 firms still only have one female board member.

The annual Hampton-Alexander Review examines how gender balances can be achieved in the leadership of FTSE companies and is in its third edition. It has a long-term recommendation of achieving 33% female representation on all FTSE 350 boards, executive committees and direct reports to executive committees by the end of 2020.
