Legal & General Investment Management has appointed Sonja Laud as deputy chief investment officer and William Riley as head of solutions, joining in January.
In her newly created role, Laud will report to CIO Anton Eser. She joins from Fidelity International, where she was head of equity and a member of its global equity management team, having joined in June 2017.
Prior to that, she worked as a senior fund manager at Barings and Schroders, after starting her career at DWS Investments in 2001.
Meanwhile, as head of solutions, Riley will report to Laud. He joins LGIM from BlackRock where he held a number of senior portfolio management roles, including head of client solutions portfolio management EMEA.
He worked at BlackRock for 13 years and prior to that spent six years at Sanlam Investments.
Commenting on the appointments, Eser said: "We are delighted that Sonja and Will are joining the investment leadership team at LGIM.
"Their experience in financial markets, client focus and outcome-orientated approach will be invaluable as we continue to deliver holistic solutions which combine the full breadth of LGIM's capabilities to meet the evolving needs of our clients."
Laud added: "I am looking forward to embarking on this new opportunity at an exciting time for LGIM and the asset management industry in general, as it continues to adapt and innovate in response to client demand."
