HSBC GAM hires former Alliance Trust Savings sales head Gillies

HSBC Global Asset Management (HSBC GAM) has hired Ron Gillies as director of London IFAs as part of its sales team expansion.

In his new role at HSBC GAM, Gillies - who joined the firm at the start of October - will be responsible for the distribution of HSBC's OEICs, SICAVs and ICAVs among the top tier IFAs. Gillies was previously head of sales at Alliance Trust Savings but left the firm at the start of May as part of an internal reshuffle. Gillies joined Alliance Trust Savings in June 2016 as business development manager before being promoted to head of sales in May 2017.
