MSCI launches 12 China indices in preparation for A-shares inclusion

Next step towards full inclusion

MSCI has taken the next step towards inclusion of the A-shares market in its Emerging Markets index with the launch of 12 China indices.

In June last year, MSCI made the decision to include China's A-shares into its emerging markets and ACWI indices starting June 2018. As a result, MSCI is expanding its China index offering to prepare global investors for the next step of the A-share inclusion process The China A indices launched will follow the MSCI Global Investable Markets Indexes Methodology and include the Stock Connect eligibility constraints for large-cap and mid-cap companies.
